HDPE Blue DrumMFI 0.5, Built for Blow Moulding.
High-density polyethylene pellets reprocessed from blue drums, with a melt flow index of 0.5. Stiff and tough for blow moulded containers, pipes, crates and heavy-duty extrusion.
About HDPE Blue Drum
HDPE Blue Drum granules are reprocessed from industrial blue HDPE drums, one of the cleanest and most consistent HDPE waste streams available. The drums are sorted, washed, granulated and pelletised in Chennai.
With an MFI of 0.5 g/10 min the material has the high melt strength that blow moulding needs for parison stability, and the stiffness for pipes, crates and thick-section extrusion. It runs blue as supplied and takes black masterbatch for pipe and sheet applications.
Applications
- Blow moulded cans, jerry cans and drums
- HDPE pipes and conduits
- Crates and pallets
- Heavy-duty sheet and profile extrusion
- Black pipe with masterbatch

Questions About HDPE Blue Drum
If yours is not here, send it on WhatsApp and a technical person replies, not a bot.
Why is a low MFI of 0.5 right for blow moulding?
Low MFI means high melt strength. The parison holds its shape between extrusion and mould close, which is what blow moulded drums, cans and jerry cans need. It is also what gives pipes their pressure resistance.
Can HDPE Blue Drum granules be used for pipes?
Yes. It is used for non-pressure and low-pressure HDPE pipes, conduits and profiles, usually with black masterbatch. For pressure-rated pipe you should confirm the required PE grade and test the material first.
Are the drums post-consumer or post-industrial?
Industrial blue drums, typically from chemical, oil and food ingredient packaging, sourced through industrial channels and washed before granulation. Not household waste.
